2017 Fun Run

What are we doing?

The Mountain Park Elementary PTA is excited to announce the annual fundraiser. This year we will be doing a Fun Run. We were very successful last year raising over $20,000!! We hope to continue that success this year.

The best part of the FUN RUN is that our school gets 100% of the money collected!

We need all MPES families to participate in order to make this a huge success for our school and children!  Every little bit collected helps us do great things at our school.

Why do we need the money?

Proceeds raised this year will be used to purchase Chrome Books for classroom use. 

When are we doing it?

The event will kick off with a pep rally on August 18, 2017, followed by the Fun Run on August 25.  All funds need to be submitted by September 8, 2017.

Thank you for supporting a fundraiser that helps us earn money that directly contributes to making our children’s education better!

Here are some additional items that the PTA contributed to our school in the last year:

  • Teacher grants – MPES teachers in all grade levels were given the opportunity to submit grant proposals for items needed to improve student learning experiences. The PTA was able to accommodate the following requests, totaling over $4,100:

    • Buses for the annual 5th grade field trip

    • Conference attendance for the Technology instructor

    • 3 mini iPads for PE classes to show students correct techniques & movements

    • Benches for the Art Room

    • An electric pencil sharpener and art glaze for the art classroom

    • Social science and Science Weekly readers for all of 4th grade

    • Positive behavior awards for all MPES students to earn

    • Membership to Starfall.com for ESOL, PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade

    • Science and social studies experiment materials for all of 2nd grade

    • Rocks and minerals science kits for all of 3rd grade

    • Access to Raz-kids.com for all of 3rd grade,

    • Phonics kits for all of Kindergarten.

  • Classroom supplies for all teachers – 36 teachers (all grade levels plus support teachers & specialists) were provided up to $100 each to use for school supplies in classrooms.

  • Teacher thank you lunches – 5 lunches for MPES teachers & administration.

  • 12 easels for the 3rd-5th grade classrooms, to satisfy new county teaching models for interactive instruction.

  • Printing of the school handbook for every family at MPES.

  • Paint and flowers to refresh the front MPES school sign, carpool sign, and front entrance.

  • Kindergarten Camp refreshments for new MPES parents.

  • Care Team support – includes backpacks & school supplies for MPES children in need, and food & school supplies assistance to an MPES family who lost their house in a fire during the school year.

  • Sprit Nights with local businesses throughout the school year – Bruster’s, Zaxby’s, Little Ceasars, SkyZone, TinyTowne, Chik-fil-A, and All-American Skating.

  • Fun activities for MPES families: Fall Festival, Bingo Night, and the Reflections Art Program.

  • Fun activities for students: the yearbook program and the Class Activities fund.

  • School communications – the electronic Paw Press for parents, and the printed Cougar Caller school directory.

  • School-wide materials, including clinic supplies and a water cooler for the gym.

  • The annual 5th grade celebration and in-house field trip.

  • $5,000 in funds to purchase Chromebooks and additional materials to help the school become STEM certified.
